Authorities say a 76-year-old woman was hit and killed by a person on an electric scooter early Wednesday morning.
They say the driver of the scooter left the scene.
Police say around 2 a.m., 76-year-old Fanghong Chen was crossing the street at 18th Avenue and 86th Street in Bath Beach when she was struck by an electric scooter.
Investigators say the driver of the scooter ran a red light, hit Chen and fled.
Police say Chen was taken to a local hospital, where she died.
