Police are asking for the public's help to find the person responsible for punching a 78-year-old woman in the face while riding the bus in Gravesend.

It happened Friday afternoon at a bus stop in front of 2837 86th Street. Police say another passenger punched the victim in her face after the two got into an argument.

Witnesses at the scene say the fight was over the victim confronting the suspect about her child spitting on her.

Commuters said the incident was disturbing.

"I think that's crazy. I think people shouldn't put their hands on other people," said one man.

The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for swelling to her face and right eye. Anyone who has information about the suspect is asked to call police.
