Carbon monoxide from propane burner sickened 8 in Flatbush

Crews responded just after 10 p.m. Friday to an apartment on East 18th Street between Brighton Lane and Church Avenue.

Eight people were rushed to the hospital due to carbon monoxide exposure Friday night in Flatbush, according to FDNY officials.

Crews responded just after 10 p.m. Friday to an apartment on East 18th Street between Brighton Lane and Church Avenue. In the apartment, they found a propane burner causing a significant amount of carbon monoxide.

At least eight people were hospitalized but have since been released.

National Grid was also on the scene to assist.
