Eight people, including two officers, were taken to the hospital following a police-involved crash on the Major Deegan Expressway.
Authorities say that a suspected car thief led them on a high-speed chase from Manhattan to the southbound side of the highway in The Bronx at around 10 a.m. Two police vehicles pursued the black Nissan Altima before it caused a multi-vehicle accident.
The driver has been placed under arrest, but his name has not yet been released.
None of the injuries are believed to be serious.
