The U.S. Army says that eight American soldiers are being charged in the death of a fellow soldier in Afghanistan.
Pvt. Daniel Chen was found dead in a guard tower in October, with what the Army calls a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Chen's family claims that the 19-year-old from Manhattan was hazed and harassed because of his race.
The eight soldiers facing charges remain in Afghanistan, but they have been removed from their duties and sent to a different base.
The soldiers could face charges of dereliction of duty, assault and even involuntary manslaughter.
