Nine people were rushed to the hospital after flames broke out in Cypress Hills.
Firefighters were called to a four-story building at 728 Liberty Ave. just after midnight Monday. The fire was mostly contained to the second and third floors.
Eight residents suffered minor injuries, but one person was seriously hurt. They were all taken to Brookdale Hospital.
An investigation into what sparked the blaze is underway.
