A treatment center dedicated to Sept. 11 first responders has opened its doors in Brooklyn.
The clinic at SUNY Downstate is the first in the borough and developed out of a partnership with Stony Brook University's Long Island Clinical Center. Officials say it was all made possible because of the Zadroga Act passage last year.
Physicians say the center will help more than just firefighters. Police officers, construction workers and volunteers who helped with 9/11 cleanup can get medical and psychological evaluations.
