Brooklyn movie buffs can rejoice: the Bushwick Film Festival is underway.
Filmmakers and film fans flocked to the House of Yes Thursday night to see "I Am Gangster," the opening premiere at the ninth annual festival.
The weekend is scheduled to be packed with indie movies, shorts and panels, while focusing on diverse voices and themes. Sunday will feature a "women in film" program, composed of all-female directors.
The festival runs through Sunday, when an awards ceremony will cap off the festivities.
