AAA says nearly 73 million people are expected to hit the roads for Thanksgiving, making up about 90% of travelers.

AAA says Wednesday, along with Tuesday and Sunday, are the busiest times for Thanksgiving Travel.

They say the busiest travel window for Wednesday is 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Luis, heading to Connecticut for Thanksgiving, says even leaving early didn’t help with chaos in the roads.

“There’s a lot of traffic like usual. I think it’s like three hours to get there. I went to work, left a little early, left three hours early so I can get there on time and everything,” said Luis.

AAA says the best bet on beating the rush on the way back is to hit the roads early.
