Authorities are looking for the owners of two abused dogs that were found and rescued by the Humane Society of Port Jervis and Deerpark.
Rescuers say the dogs were found in May and August in the Middletown and Deerpark areas.
They say the pit bull, Athena, was found emaciated, wounded, living off garbage and was used as a bait dog.
A lab-mix, Sailor, was abandoned with a large metal clip dug through its neck.
Athena has been adopted, but Sailor is still looking for a forever home.
If you recognize either animal or would like to donate toward their care – contact the Humane Society of Port Jervis and Deerpark.
