Acting ICE director, Homeland Security officials testify before Congress
Tuesday's hearing came in response to growing calls for oversight after two people were shot by ICE agents in Minneapolis.

The heads of ICE and Homeland Security, in charge of carrying out President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown, appeared before the House Homeland Security Committee.
That committee is led by Bayport Congressman Andrew Garbarino.
"Transparency and communication are needed now more than ever. The department's no fail mission hangs in the balance," Garbarino said.
Tuesday's hearing came in response to growing calls for oversight after two people were shot by ICE agents in Minneapolis.
Leaders would not comment on the ongoing investigations, but they defended the administration's mission.
"You won't see ICE agents rolling through the parking lots and just snatching people up, ICE does intelligence driven, targeted enforcement operations," says Todd Lyons, the acting director of ICE.
Democrats and Republicans have until Friday to reach a deal on a DHS funding deal, or the department will be shut down. TSA and FEMA would also be affected.
