Several male activists took to the steps of City Hall to demand Assemblyman Vito Lopez (D-Brooklyn) resign in the wake of several sexual harassment allegations.
Protesters also went one step further, calling for tougher laws to protect women in the workplace. They say it's time for lawmakers to create a plan for preventing men in power from abusing women.
Lopez was censured by the Assembly last month after allegedly harassing female staffers. Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver then approved a secret $103,000 settlement case between the politician and two of his accusers.
A source told the Associated Press that the Albany County District Attorney's Office is joining a special prosecutor investigating the case.
