Activists demand charges dropped against woman involved in nail salon brawl
A rally in East Flatbush is condemning a nail salon that was involved in a brawl earlier this month.
A rally was held Tuesday night, renewing demands for action from community officials and a dropping of charges against a woman involved in the brawl.
Christina Thomas was at the center of a monetary dispute at the New Apple Red Nail Salon when things turned violent. Thomas and her mother were attacked with broomsticks and dustpans.
Those involved with the rally already have part of their demands met -- the salon is still shut down, plastered with signs made by activists.
Rally attendees also want other salon employees to be charged in connection with the brawl.
The DA's office says Thomas' charges are still pending and they are continuing to review evidence.
