A group of activists held a protest walk in Crown Heights today against proposed cuts to the FDNY.
The activists say that Mayor Bloomberg is proposing to close 20 fire companies citywide, including eight in Brooklyn.
According to the Bureau of Fire investigation, from 2006 to 2011, there were 156 fire fatalities in Brooklyn. Activists say they fear that number would rise dramatically if fire companies were closed.
