Mayor Eric Adams is pushing back against rumors about meeting with President Donald Trump and speculation surrounding his campaign.

It comes as multiple reports suggest the Trump administration is weighing whether to offer Adams a job to clear the field of mayoral candidates.

“Mayor Adams has not met with Donald Trump — don’t believe the noise. He is not dropping out of the race. The Mayor is fully committed to winning this election, with millions of New Yorkers preparing to cast their votes,” Todd Shapiro, a spokesperson for the Adams campaign, wrote in a statement to News 12.

According to published reports, Adams was offered a position in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

“Although Mayor Adams has been the most pro-housing mayor in New York City’s history, at no time did he ask for—nor was he offered—a job at HUD. Over the last few years, the Mayor has shown his ability to block out the noise and stay focused on delivering for New Yorkers,” Shapiro wrote.

The spokesman added that former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is also running for mayor, previously held a HUD position and “can always continue where he left off.”
