A new study shows that New York led the nation in antisemitic incidents in 2022, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
In addition to the study's findings, New York experienced a 39% increase in incidents during the year 2022 compared to the year 2021. The majority of those incidents happened in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
In 2022, there were 195 incidents in Manhattan, 147 in Brooklyn, 15 in the Bronx and 26 in Queens.
Out of the 580 antisemitic crimes happening 2022, 72 were assault, 240 were harassment and 268 were from vandalism.
The ADL also noticed a sharp increase in incidents targeting orthodox Jews not only in New York, but also nationwide. Regional director of the ADL Scott Richman says the report should serve as a wakeup call for everyone.
