Police are investigating a possible act of hate as shots were fired toward a Brooklyn synagogue, Wednesday night.

Police are continuing their investigation Friday after a complaint report was filed in regard to shots fired from an unknown device, leaving many questions unanswered.

Police say a 53-year-old man reported that on Wednesday just after 10:30 p.m., four pellets from an unknown device were shot toward 3762 18th Ave.

News 12 is told those shots caused damage to an outside wall. According to the Anti-Defamation League, police reports indicate the man was dismantling a sukkah in front of the Brooklyn synagogue following the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

Following the incident, the ADL is speaking out, offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that could lead to an arrest of the person responsible for firing metal objects toward a man they say was identifiably Jewish.

The Hate Crimes Task Force was notified as this incident remains under investigation.
