New York Attorney General Letitia James spoke at an in-person graduation for fifth graders at Community Partnership Charter School Thursday.
Derrick Dunlap, the principal of the school, says the past year was tough for students and staff. He says it was relief when they were able to go back in person this year.
"We were virtual last year, so I was determined to do something in person,” Dunlap says.
James was the keynote speaker for the graduation. This was possible only after what she says was some major persistence from Dunlap.
As students crossed the stage ahead of their next chapter, Dunlap encouraged everyone to embrace positive change.
