The FDNY says a dead person was found in the vehicle after reports of a car fire at 900 Intervale Ave.
Investigators responded to the scene of the car fire at the intersection of Intervale Avenue and Kelly Street Monday morning.
A neighbor in the area said the deceased male was in his 30s, lived in the neighborhood and often played softball at Bill Rainey Park. Another resident said the area has seen more and more unusual incidents like this one.
Police say the car does not appear to have been in a collision. The medical examiner’s office is working to determine the cause of death.
