Police saved the life of a man who suffered a mental crisis and climbed on top of the Brooklyn Bridge, the NYPD says.
Video shows members of the NYPD's Emergency Service Unit trying to get to the person at the top of the bridge.
The initial 911 calls came in around 6:30 a.m. for a report of a man who climbed the bridge. The scene wasn't clear until two hours later.
The incident caused heavy traffic. Two Brooklyn-bound lanes were shut down as emergency crews worked to help that man to safety.
The man was safely brought down and taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
