Clarkstown police say New City roads have reopened following police activity in the area on Wednesday.

All New Hempstead Road lanes were closed in both directions between Lynhaven Drive and Homestead Lane Wednesday afternoon.

Police continued to work in the area after the road reopened and asked the public to avoid the location.

Officials say they were executing a search warrant in connection to an investigation in Haverstraw.

News 12 saw officers in the area with long guns. Haverstraw police and the Rockland County sheriff's crime scene unit were also there.

Officers say there is no threat to the public.
