The mayor met today with the mother of the young boy who was shot and killed as he sat in a parked car eating with his cousin in Brooklyn.
Police say Kade Lewen was sitting in a parked car with his 20-year-old cousin and another 8-year-old child when shots were fired. Lewen was struck multiple times and killed. His cousin remains in the hospital.
His mother, Suzette Lewen, is asking for justice for her 12-year-old son.
Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell visited the family at their home in Flatlands Monday.
A fund has been set up to raise money for the child's funeral.
