ALERT CENTER: Police: Man arrested with loaded gun during North Lawrence traffic stop

Steve Innocent is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and vehicle and traffic law violations.

Police say a Queens man has been arrested in North Lawrence on gun charges following a traffic stop.  
According to police, officers were on patrol and observed a 1998 Nissan Maxima with dark tinted windows traveling northbound on Rockaway Turnpike. They pulled over the vehicle and conducted a traffic law stop.
Subsequent to the investigation, a consent search of the vehicle revealed that the operator, Steve Innocent, 32, of Far Rockaway, was illegally in possession of a black handgun, loaded with a 15 round magazine, containing 10,  9-millimeter rounds.  
Innocent was placed into custody without incident. 
Innocent is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and vehicle and traffic law violations.
