New York natives Alicia Keys and Kadeem Dean, aka Swizz Beatz, are sharing their extensive art collection with the public at the Brooklyn Museum.
The duo introduced “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection” and want those who see the work to feel connected and curious.
Visitors will see more than 98 pieces of artwork from more than 30 artists from the African diaspora. Each piece sparks its own conversation of Black self-representation, colonialism, social issues within society and the artist interpretation of life within the diaspora.
The exhibit is also meant to highlight the bond between Swizz and Alicia as a couple and the artists they support.
