One of the alleged attackers of a slain Ecuadorian immigrant says he?s not a killer.

Suspect Keith Phoenix stated in an interview with The New York Post that the alleged bias attack was actually an act of self-defense.

Police say Phoenix and another man beat Jose Sucuzhanay to death with an aluminum bat while shouting anti-gay and Latino slurs after he was seen arm-in-arm with his brother. Investigators say Sucuzhanay was actually holding onto his brother to keep warm.
