The suspected killer of a Bronx teen basketball star appeared in court today.
Brandon Hendricks was caught in the crossfire of a shooting back in 2020 and killed. Hahjim Luke is currently facing charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in the shooting.
Eve Hendricks, Brandon’s mother, says she was hopeful that Luke would take a plea deal.
Luke did not take the plea deal. His attorney asked the judge to continue the case, pushing the next court appearance for Luke to Oct. 13.
“I just think that we would have had an answer today,” said Eve Hendricks. “Either accept the plea, the time, or say no and we go to trial. Again, we have to go another day.”
Eve Hendricks says this waiting game has been three years too long.
“I want him to know that my son Brandon was the sweetest, kindest human being that anyone could come across,” said Eve. She and her family say they won’t stop showing up until justice for Brandon is served.
