Thousands of Amazon workers are on strike nationwide, including a large rally in Queens.
The Teamsters Union, representing the strikers, calls this the largest strike against Amazon in history, involving 10,000 employees at seven warehouses.
Workers are demanding higher pay, better benefits and improved working conditions, accusing Amazon of ignoring a Dec. 15 contract negotiation deadline. The strike comes during the critical holiday season, just days before Christmas and Hanukkah.
Amazon says operations are unaffected, dismissing the strike as a “PR play” and claiming the union is misleading workers and coercing them to join the union.
