The annual Puerto Rican Day Parade was held in Williamsburg Sunday.
The avenue was full of color and spice to celebrate an event that has been hitting the streets for 25 years.
Hector Gonzalez, the coordinator of the festival, says the big message is unity.
"I told people, 'I know your coming here to support us and support the ones that you have on the island,"' he says.
Organizers say that the event also reminded people that Puerto Rico still needs help after Hurricane Maria.
