The 41st annual St. Patrick's Day parade was held in Park Slope Sunday.
The words of the Irish national anthem kicked off the parade, which also included bagpipes, lots of green and Irish pride.
Parade-goers also paused to remember the men and women who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, laying a wreath in their honor.
The events also included a Mass and a breakfast.
"I'm from Brooklyn," said Mary Hogan, who served as grand marshal. "I've been working with this parade for about 15 to 20 years now."
Some patrons also said they try to come each year.
Organizers believe the parade plays a vital role in promoting Irish pride in Brooklyn.
