The intersection of Philip & Vincent Ave was renamed to Anthony DiGirolamo Way on Saturday.
DiGirolamo passed away in 2017 and he was the owner of Geramino's Deli. Locals say he was well-known for his character and beloved member of the Throgs Neck Community.
"It’s a bittersweet day, but I think it’s such an honor that they are doing this for him," said Anthony’s sister Carolann DiGirolamo.
