A highly specialized anti-terrorism squad based out of the Fort Hamilton Army Base was unveiled Monday.
Lawmakers say they fought hard to get the unit, which will handle chemical and biological attacks, up and running. About 22 military members make up the team, which is the city's only such unit. Officials say members can be deployed not only in Brooklyn, but across the city.
The Fort Hamilton base is located at the foot of the Verrazano Bridge.
