Arrest made in Clarkson Avenue stabbing
Police have arrested a man accused of stabbing a 22-year-old woman to death in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens early Saturday morning.
Police charged 35-year-old Alwasi Tyson with second-degree murder, four counts of acting in a manner injurious to a child and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say Cox was visiting her friend on the sixth floor of her apartment building on Clarkson Avenue at the time of the incident. They say Tyson, the ex-husband of Cox's friend, came home in a rage and stabbed Cox in the chest.
Neighbors say they heard a loud argument at the time of the incident.
Cox was taken to Kings County Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
