Several hundred people filled the streets of Williamsburg Tuesday night to celebrate the history-making win of the nation's new president-elect, Barack Obama.
Supporters danced in the streets as Obama's win became apparent. ?It was amazing energy,? said celebrator Daniel Carpi. ?People were crying out of happiness.?
Police launched a chopper to shine lights on the crowds and buildings, and officers showed up in riot gear to control the crowds and clear the large group from the streets.
According to police, several people were arrested for disorderly conduct but no injuries were reported.
