A nonprofit's new community space and art gallery, opened in the neighborhood this week.
Arts East New York has been around in Brooklyn for almost a decade, but its new space is larger at 2,500-square feet on Livonia Avenue.
Organizers say the center encourages local artists to express themselves through activism and community involvement.
Offerings at the center range from poetry readings to salsa dance lessons and more.
