Assemblymember Carmen Arroyo is calling on the state to equip hospitals with more ventilators.

Arroyo is also asking the state to train staff in making sure they're able to help save lives. She says there's a growing number of older adults in New York who may be at risk in case ventilator demand is greater than the current number available.

"We must rethink how ventilators are proportioned to hospitals and long-term care facilities in our state. We must also better prepare for the mass need of such medical devices for the next wave of viruses that will impact our society," said Arroyo.
