At least one person was hurt following a shooting at a city housing complex in Melrose last night.

According to witnesses, two people were shot at 720 Westchester Ave., just off the Jackson Avenue subway stop, at around 10 p.m. EMS only confirmed that one male was taken to Lincoln Hospital with a gunshot wound to the back and is expected to be OK.

Police combed the area for evidence last night, but still have no further information on the investigation.
