At least two people were injured, one critically, during an apartment building fire in Homecrest, the FDNY says.

Firefighters responded to 1780 East 13th St. just after 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Fire officials say crews battled flames on the second floor of the six-story building for just under an hour.

EMS took the victim in critical condition to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and a second person with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening to NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health.

News 12 reached out to the Red Cross and is awaiting a response.
