A new report on express bus service has revealed that nearly one in every three MTA express buses is not on time.
One of the worst offenders seen in Comptroller Scott Stinger's audit was the BM1 line in Mill Basin. According to the report, it's late almost 34 percent of the time.
The audit examined timeliness, wheelchair functionality and customer satisfaction of express busses. Overall, the report found that express buses were late more than 30 percent of the time. Those delays averaged anywhere between six and 28 minutes after a scheduled departure time.
The audit found that nearly 40 percent of complaints related to express buses were about delays.
The MTA says that it will continue to improve service management. The agency also said it is launching a number of initiatives like kiosks and real-time bus tracking technology to correct issues found in the report.
