Police say one person is dead and two others were hurt in an exchange of gunfire in Williamsburg Thursday night.
A man's body was seen carried out of the apartment building where the shooting happened on Broadway near the corner of Bartlett Street.
Police say they believe the man was trying to break in or rob the people inside the apartment, but someone started shooting at him.
Officers say the man ended up dead, a 29-year-old woman was shot in the arm and a 37-year-old man was shot in the chest.
Investigator say it's unclear who shot who.
Police say there was a previous home invasion at the same apartment in 2019 also involving the female victim in this shooting.
This incident comes as several events are planned for today in honor of Gun Violence Awareness Day.
