Authorities: 36-year-old man charged with murder in Starrett City stabbing

The NYPD says that the victim’s poodle was also killed in the incident and was found on the sidewalk outside of the home.

Last Friday, a 36-year-old man was found with stab wounds, and his 58-year-old mother and her dog were found stabbed to death. Now, police have that 36-year-old behind bars.  
Police found 36-year-old Andre Eugene and his mother, 58-year-old Donna Hyman, both with multiple stab wounds to their torsos last Friday night. Donna Hyman was pronounced dead at the scene, and Eugene was transported to Brookdale Hospital in serious condition. 
The NYPD says that the victim’s poodle was also killed in the incident and was found on the sidewalk outside of the home.  
Eugene now faces charges of murder, aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the stabbing that took place.
