A 25-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he was seen subway surfing on the D train at the Columbus Circle station, according to police.

Police say Derik Sobre was subway surfing with a 9-inch kitchen knife on him. He has since been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, reckless endangerment and criminal trespass.

The NYPD has already taken enforcement action on 87 subway surfers this year, nearly tripling its enforcement from 2022.
