The victims in Sunday’s deadly car accident on the Saw Mill Parkway have been identified.
Authorities say Adolph Cintron Jr., 57, of Brooklyn, was driving southbound on the parkway when he crashed into a Jersey barrier where there is an opening to allow emergency vehicles to turn around. His 2019 Lincoln SUV went airborne, flipped over, and landed on its roof on top of the hood of a 2017 Hyundai SUV that was coming northbound. Cintron was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Hyundai, Noe Perez, 40, of the Bronx, was killed. Perez’s wife and teenage daughter were in the car with him. They suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The investigation into what caused Cintron to lose control of his vehicle is continuing.
