Barclays Center was raising security ahead of a controversial concert scheduled for Saturday night.
Swedish progressive house DJ Avicii was set to peform. He recently held a concert in Boston, where more than 30 people were hospitalized. Officials say their ailments ranged from heat-related conditions to drug and alcohol use.
Officials at the center said they were taking precautions to avoid a similar situation. Security was being boosted and IDs were being checked.
"Guests must be 18 years old or over and provide valid ID or they will be denied entry; extensive security screenings are conducted at all entrances including full body pat downs and drug screening dogs; and medical staffing is increased to provide prompt response to guests that may experience medical issues," the center said in a statement. "As with all of our events, we are committed to providing an enjoyable and safe experience for our guests."
