? Some Bay Ridge homeowners want the Department of Transportation (DOT) to put up more stop signs at an intersection they feel is dangerous.
A library sits at the corner of 73rd Street and Ridge Boulevard and an elementary school is nearby. Residents also say many drivers speed through the area. The DOT admits there have been at least six accidents at the intersection in the past two years and one pedestrian was injured. However, the DOT says there is not enough traffic to warrant turning the intersection into a four-way stop.
The DOT is looking into the request for more stop signs and says it is conducting a second study on the intersection.
