Some Boy Scouts from Brooklyn are being hailed as heroes.
Two Bedford-Stuyvesant boys saved a fellow scout from drowning this past summer, putting their training into action and pulling the boy out of the water to safety.
Jayden Johnson and Ty'zia Jones, both 12 years old, were swimming in a pool in Florida when they noticed the boy had been underwater for too long.
The scouts dove in, retrieved the unresponsive boy and dragged him to the surface before calling 911.
The boy made a full recovery.
At a time when Boy Scout councils around the country are shrinking, the New York chapter says its membership has actually grown by 8 percent.
