Bed-Stuy fire destroys smoke shop, convenience store

A fire Tuesday morning destroyed a smoke shop and convenience store in Bed-Stuy.
Fire officials say that the shop on Broadway burst into flames just after 10 a.m., and that the flames even managed to impact nearby stores and an apartment building.
People who live in the apartment building that was impacted say the living conditions aren’t ideal, and that broken ceilings and severe water damage make them feel unsafe to sleep there at night.
The FDNY says that no one was injured and that the department is working to determine what caused the fire.
