Bed-Stuy man arrested, charged for parachuting off the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge

A 40-year-old man was arrested and charged after launching off the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge while wearing a parachute just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, according to the NYPD.

Witnesses told police that they saw "a man with a parachute" who "flew" over the waters of Gravesend Bay.

The man identified by police as Jonathan Warren landed safely in Calvert Vaux Park in Gravesend and was then apprehended and arrested by police.

He was charged with reckless endangerment.
