A Bed-Stuy mother says she has been battling a cockroach infestation in her NYCHA apartment for months.
Jennifer Ellis says she is scared that the roach infestation could threaten the health of children: two sons are asthmatic and one son has sickle cell disease.
"I gave NYCHA a letter from Brookdale Hospital stating that it's not good for my son's condition to be around any dust, mold or cockroaches," she says.
Ellis claims there are eight or so bugs every day scuttling around the Gates Avenue apartment she shares with her four kids. She says it's been going on for four months despite monthly exterminators sent by NYCHA.
