A 13-year-old boy shot himself in the head Thursday in what neighbors are calling a terrible accident.

Neighbors say the teen was playing with a gun when he unintentionally shot himself. They say he was at a friend?s house when it happened and that the boys may not have known the weapon was loaded. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Police were on the scene questioning several people and trying to figure out just how the incident happened. Neighbors say the accident illustrates the urgent need to get guns off the streets.
