A Bedford-Stuyvesant woman still embodies the Christmas spirit each year despite being diagnosed with a disease more than 10 years ago.
Ollie Hopkins, who also goes by "Granny," was diagnosed with COPD heart failure in 2003.
Hopkins created a holiday display that's filled with lights, Frasier firs and Santa Claus.
The 74-year-old's close-knit family says their matriarch always had a love of decorating for the holidays, and is in the Christmas spirit no matter what.
Hopkins says she is grateful to still be alive, especially when she was told she wouldn't make it with a bad heart.
